Paint colors

I started project nursery today! If some of you don't know, we are in the process of adoption.  The part we are in right now is the waiting part.  Its only been a few months since we started the wait, but it is weird not knowing if we are 2 months along in this pregnancy....or 7 months along.  Actually there is a good chance we haven't even conceived yet! But to pass the time I have lots to do to prepare and I am not pregnant so I feel good while I am doing it! I picked out paint colors this week... and of course, another thing we don't know is if this precious little baby will be a girl or a boy...so I am attempting to do a gender neutral nursery.  This is hard for me....I like boys rooms to look like boys and girls rooms to look like girls but I think I found the perfect neutral colors and when we know what God is going to bless us with... I will add my accent colors!
The furniture will be the gray color. (these photos are terrible)  The walls a cream color and the pink color is an accent color if its a girl.  The green is the accent color if its a boy.

Inspiration color and finish for crib and dresser.
So...I started refinishing Emma's old crib today.  I have one coat of primer on PART of this crib...whew...its a good thing we probably have a while :).  I am also going to refinish a dresser and I am so excited about it!! I am even more excited thinking about laying a little baby in the crib and putting little tiny clothes in the drawers. :)
Paint and some tender loving care can make almost anything look brand new. Sometimes all you need to doll up a room or a piece of furniture is a new color! Then when people see it...they may realize that its an old piece of furniture.  They may see a few scratches...but that gives it character and the old piece of furniture is now serving a purpose and it looks great too.
This got me to thinking about what a difference Christ can make in someone's life.  You may have a bad past or failures that still affect you today, but God can still use you. A fresh coat of paint from the All Mighty and some tender loving care from the One who loves you the most and WOW....look at that unique, amazing piece of furniture. I am so thankful that my mistakes and failures don't keep God from working on me and hopefully using me in some special way.  Also God expects us, even when we fail, to keep serving him.  We can't just stop being a dresser or a crib.  We can just sit in a garage and not be used but He wants to use us for what we were meant to be used for and that is different for everyone.
Maybe you think this is a silly illustration.... but in whatever I am doing I try to think about what God thinks about it and sometimes He gives me a blessing in the smallest things.  So look for Gods blessings in everything and you will find them.
